What is the key layering for summer season? Of course, it’s a vest. It’s an absolute truth that summer is one of the best seasons ever, but some of you might say it affects your style, I mean there aren’t so many ways to layer your clothes properly by making a statement look, like you used to wear during winter season by adding coats and cozy jackets. But thanks to the vests you can substitute winter cover-ups. Anyway, we are here to show you some of the craziest, coolest and trendiest ways to wear this summer outerwear.
Keep attention to various lengths, as you may create any look you want. You can try grunge, rock, biker, nomad, tailored, denim styles, in other words, use your imagination. The best thing is to look for more versatile and eclectic designs which don’t look too much bulky on you. Basically, vest is a jacket without sleeves, that’s why keep it sophisticated and try on biker looks to cover your lightweight tops and shirts. The choice is enormously big, there are stunning lace designs, denim, leather, silk, grungy, printed, patterned with/without patch pockets, shirt collars, collarless, etc.
My personal favorites are those black leather versions, which can be either oversized, fitted, long/short, exaggerated, etc. The great thing about this cover-up that it’s appropriate for any occasion, starting from casual street walks to office hours.
If we speak about work-appropriate models, then it’s better to choose the ones which look like sleeveless blazers. Just imagine yourself wearing a statement vest with button-up and high-waisted pencil skirt. Looks amazing, stylish, professional and very chic, right?
If we speak about everyday trendy styles for streets, festivals and weekends, then I suggest you to try on the ones embroidered with fringes, colored in fresh prints and wear them over blouses and tank tops. Style them with your favorite ripped jeans and cut-offs.
The printed, tailored vest looks awesome worn atop crop top and teamed with skinnies.
Here we see a denim style worn atop white dress embroidered with crochet details. Finish the look by adding black handbag and and strappy sandals.
Here we see a denim piece worn atop white tank which is tucked in ripped and distressed cut-offs which look awesome paired with gladiator high flat sandals.
I love this lady who wears a sky blue colored leather vest styled with rich blue colored ensemble with a pleated flared skirt. You can update this outfit by adding mirrored Wayfarers and color-blocking suede pointed-toe heels:
What is your favorite look to try on this year? Do you love tailored or more casual styles?
Why are all your models young women? I’d like to see styles on more mature women to truly asses how they would look on me… I’m 71. These young models look good in anything !
I’m 60, and I would like to see older models with more diverse body types. We have buying power! Mvto
